Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Morocco Prestige Tours
At Morocco Prestige Tours, we are deeply passionate about the destinations we travel to and the positive impact our tours have on local communities. We are committed to ethical travel and ensuring that human rights are respected throughout our operations. In line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we take proactive steps to prevent slavery and human trafficking within our business and across our supply chain. Below are the steps we have taken to uphold this commitment.
About Morocco Prestige Tours
Morocco Prestige Tours offers bespoke, tailor-made travel experiences, specializing in the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of Morocco. We work closely with local suppliers, including accommodation providers, transportation services, and guides, to ensure an authentic and immersive experience for our customers.
Due Diligence in Our Business and Supply Chain
We operate with a core focus on ethical business practices and sustainability. Our partnerships with local suppliers in Morocco are based on mutual respect, transparency, and ethical principles. We work with a wide range of local businesses and suppliers to provide travel services, transportation, accommodations, and more, ensuring each partnership aligns with our ethical standards.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct, updated in 2023, reflects our commitment to high ethical standards. It requires our suppliers to ensure no forced or child labor occurs in their businesses, that all workers are legally entitled to work, and that employees are paid at least the legal minimum wage. We also encourage our suppliers to place the same obligations on their subcontractors.
In 2024, we introduced an in-house supplier auditing process, which includes assessing whether our key ground handling agents have measures in place to prevent human trafficking and modern slavery within their own businesses and supply chains. We offer support and resources to help our partners meet these requirements.
Ethical Practices and Commitment to Human Rights
As part of our commitment to ethical tourism, Morocco Prestige Tours integrates sustainability and human rights considerations into our business operations. Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Framework, launched in 2021, outlines our dedication to making a positive impact in key areas such as the community, environment, workplace, and governance. This framework ensures we work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals and our own sustainability commitments, including reducing the risk of human rights violations.
Our Global Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy applies to all employees worldwide. The policy, which was reviewed and updated in 2023, reinforces our commitment to acting with integrity and is accompanied by an online training module for all employees. This training, introduced in 2021, educates our staff on the Modern Slavery Act and how to spot signs of exploitation.
We have also established an internal whistleblowing procedure that allows employees to confidentially raise concerns about any potential issues related to modern slavery. This procedure is supported by an independent third-party service to ensure confidentiality.
Supplier Audits and Training
In 2024, we expanded our focus on supplier audits to ensure compliance with our ethical standards. As part of this process, we work closely with our ground handlers to confirm they have the necessary steps in place to prevent slavery and human trafficking. Suppliers are provided with our Modern Slavery Policy Template and other resources to guide them in implementing their own anti-slavery measures.
Additionally, we have launched a Supplier Resource Centre, giving our partners easy access to important compliance documents and training resources, including our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy.
Measuring Our Effectiveness
To ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not occurring in our business or supply chain, we use the following key performance indicators (KPIs):
The number of employees who have completed human rights, modern slavery, and human trafficking training.
The number of reports related to modern slavery through our whistleblowing procedure or other channels.
The longevity and strength of our relationships with ground handling agents, with many of our partnerships exceeding five years.
Looking Ahead
We are continually reviewing and improving our policies to stay at the forefront of ethical travel. We are committed to publishing our progress and updating our modern slavery statement annually to reflect any changes in our approach.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps Morocco Prestige Tours has taken during the financial year ending 31 December 2024 to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
